Objective: greEnergy was initiated in the year 2005 to create awareness among students about the importance of a clean and green environment. Recycling of waste paper,Tree plantation, Wall Illustrations, Poster Presentations, Vermi-composting, pollution check and promotion of green Ganeshas are some of the activities undertaken.

Pollution Check


The objective of the event was to educate vehicle owners on the importance of pollution control. The RTA approved pollution check agent Mr. Mahesh checked a total of 153 vehicles, including 145 two wheelers & 8 four wheelers.


Recycling of Paper


Recycling of paper was undertaken by the II year BtGC students as part of environmental studies project.They collected 1939 kg of waste paper from the different departments of the college. The recycling of paper was undertaken in collaboration with ITC limited.

Promotion and sale of green Ganesha

The objective of this exercise was to bring awareness among the students and the faculty members to actively participate in conserving nature and encourage them to use clay idols instead of plaster of Paris. About 80 clay Ganeshas were sold.




Ecofest – 2016 was conducted on the eve of Sankranthi which was an educative, colorful and fun filled event. The fest included the following events :

  • Nutri-chef – A cookery competition in which students prepared delicious, wholesome, traditional dishes and explained their nutritional value.
  • Aromed – Students displayed Aromatic & Medicinal plants used in various systems of medicine.
  • Fashion Show- A large number of students participated in their traditional attire.
  • Anthakshari – A fun-filled event for students.



4th January,2012:

The greENERGY club of the Department organized a pollution check campaign in our campus to educate vehicle owners on the importance of pollution control.
Our principal Dr.Y.Ashok inaugurated the event and also got his vehicle checked for pollution. The staff and students, who commute to college by their own two & four wheelers, got their vehicles checked.
A total of 58 vehicles, including 49 two wheelers & 9 four wheelers were checked.
