Activities 2017-18:


Prerana is an inter collegiate fest which is conducted by the department of commerce ou for (hons)1st yr, various competition are conducted both formal and informal, such as data analysis, commerce Questa, ad mania etc . this year we have won the overall champions for the 11th time in the past 15yrs. Date :5th , 6th, and 7th February 2018. Coordinators - Mrs. Neelavathi and Mrs. Rachana sharma


NSIC (29th January - 6th February 2018)

The objective of organizing tally workshop for 2nd yr students to equip them with computerized accounting knowledge and to develop job oriented skills.



The most prestigious fest of the year 'PRIMICERIUS' 2017-18 was held on 22nd and 23rd December , 2017. A total of 23 contingents from 13 colleges across the state participated in the fest. The events in the fest were broadly classifies under 5 departments- Marketing, Finance, Human Resource, Business Quiz and Best Manager. These departments covered a range of events like Bidding and selling, Identify the company, Elevator pitch, Collaborations etc. The inaugural was held on 22nd December. Chief Guest Mr. Shiva Teja, guests of honour Dr. Ramachandran and Mr.N. Avinesh presided over the ceremony. The valedictory was held on 23rd December Mr. Deepesh Jobanpatra, Vice President, Accenture; Mr. Mahesh Varuganti, director, Solis Eye Care Hospital; and Mr.T.R.Bharatan presided over the closing ceremony. The sponsors for the fest were Solis Eye Care Hospital, Goel Brothers and Krishna Jewellers. The event ended on a high note with the students of St. Francis College taking the trophy home this year.


International Conference

Two day International Conference on - PARADIGM SHIFT IN TAXATION, ACCOUNTING, FINANCE AND INSURANCE  was organized at CDM and Bhavan's Vivekananda College, Sainikpuri on December 8th and 9th 2017.


Guest lecture on “Business communication”

The department of commerce has organised a guest lecture on “Business Communication” for B.Com II year Computers & Regulars given by Dr. Navanitha Lahari on 28/8/2017. She has delivered the lecture explaining the needs objectives of importance of social media as a marketing tool in her topic. She explained the professional usage  various social networkings like Linkedin,Twitter,Facebook ect. To the students.the session was very interactive,informative in nature and students were highly motivated.


Bridge Course- 2017-18

The Department of Commerce conducted a Bridge Course for the non-commerce students. The course was conducted from 11th July to 25th July and 55 students of B Com I yr were benefited from the course.

SEBI VISIT(An Insight about Capital Markets)

As a part of its regular practice, a visit to SEBI has been organized by the Department of Commerce, on every Tuesday, starting from 28th June. A total number of 350 students of B Com(Reg, Comp and Hons) II yr have been benefited from the one day program.



The department of commerce has organized a guest lecture on Research Methodology – Sampling Methods & Techniques for III Hons & M.Com II Year students on 22-7-2016 by Dr. Vishnu Vardhan Rao, NIN, Hyderabad. He delivered lecture on Sampling Methods & Techniques. Feedback was also collected from the students. The session was interactive and informative in nature and students were highly satisfied with the seminar.


Inspire to Aspire 2017-18:

An orientation programme for B.Com Ist year students, “Inspire to Aspire” was organized by the Commerce department on 24th June 2017 in MBA Seminar Hall, where distinguished Alumni CA Anand Ravichander & CA Chaitali Dandu  of the department were invited to guide the freshers with their valuable inputs. The programme was arranged in two sessions from 10:00 am to 01:00 pm.
