Primicerius 2016

Primicerius 2016,National Level Management fest, was conducted on 14th &15th December 2016- with the theme Around the world in 2 days. The Chief guest for the event was Prof. V. Shekhar, Principal University College of Commerce and Management. The participants compete in teams of 9 members in the 5 departments of management:- Best Manager, Human Resource Management, Finance Management, Marketing & Business Quiz. The overall champions this year were the Christ University Bangalore



 

Tally workshop at NSIC, Hyderabad

The Department of Commerce has organised a one day workshop on “Tally Accounting Package” at NSIC, Hyderabad for all the first year students of B.Com in the month of December. The objective of this workshop was to enhance the computer skills of the students.

 

 

BHAVANOTSAV – 2016
DISHA – DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE

The Department of Commerce under the banner DISHA organized diverse events for Bhavanotsav – 2016, which tested the business savvy, lateral thinking, creativity and decision making skills of the participants.
All the events witnessed an overwhelming participation. Around 299 students from colleges all over the city participated in various events. The crowd was brimming with energy and was full of vigor.
The formal events included Start with 100- End as Roadies and Mind Mapping. The informal events included Commerce Word Build, Devil follows and Business Simulation.
The Department of Commerce was pleased to reward a total of 29 winners with certificates, mementos and exciting cash prizes for the respective events.
The events concluded with great enthusiasm, new ideas and a prodigious experience with the help of all the efforts put in by the lecturer in-charges, student in-charges and all the volunteers.

 

Debate Competition
The Department of Commerce conducted an intra collegiate Debate competition on 19TH NOV 2016. The topic for the debate was "Demonetization of Currency-A Road to Anti-Corruption or Hasty Decision". 164 students from all the streams of both UG and PG, enthusiastically participated in the preliminary round, out of which 20 students were shortlisted for the final round conducted on  22-Nov-2016.
On day - 2 the Debate session was divided into two phases. In the first phase, each participant was given 3 minutes to speak for and against the motion. In the second phase, an open debate was conducted for 30 minutes. The debate turned out very lively and energetic affair. Questions were posed to the participants by the honorable judges. The event was lauded by the Principal, Vice-Principal, Head Department of Commerce and judges.

Faculty Development Programme (FDP 2016)

A three day Faculty Development Programme (FDP 2016) was successfully conducted at Bhavan’s Vivekananda College from 20th to 22nd October 2016 by the Department of Commerce. The topic for the FDP was “Research Methodology and Statistical Analysis”. The FDP received an overwhelming response with the participants comprising of 40 faculty members of the college, 40 students and 24 delegates from various colleges in the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad.

Bridge Course 2016-17:

Department of commerce has organized BRIDGE COURSE FOR B. COM I YEAR NON- COMMERCE STUDENTS to acquaint them with the commerce terminology from 29th June 2016 To 15th July 2016. 33 students from all sections attended the course in Economics, Accounts and Business Organization Management. It was very much useful to the non-commerce students even a few Commerce students have attended the course. Material has been provided to students for future reference.

 

Inspire to Aspire 2016-17:

 Inspire to aspire is an orientation programme conducted on  25th of june,2016 for the first year students to give them a boost to aim high and make the best of their three years of life in college.
This is an initiation by the department of commerce to make a special impression for their Fresher’s to make them through the success stories and opportunities for an expanded career in the field of commerce.
The programme started off with inspiring quotes of swami Vivekananda and went on with a inspiring pace and motivating thoughts delivered by our principal sir PROF. Y. ASHOK and Head Department Of Commerce DR.K.SREELATHA REDDY.
Our alumni were invited to share experiences of their Alma Matter with our freshers to encourage them in being better individuals with high aims and aspirations.

SEBI:

Department of Commerce is organizing 1day workshop at SEBI & NSE Hyderabad for all the B.com II year students for providing awareness on financial and online trading. Commencing from 23rd June 2016 on every Thursday.

VANIJYA 2016
Osmania University has organized South India Commerce PG Students meet on February 27th and 28th , 2016 in which Bhavans College M.com students have won the Overall championship. M.com Students have excelled in various events with a clean sweep in Dumb Charades winning all the 3 prizes and also won in events like Start ups, Talent hunt and commerce word building.

Badruka College has conducted Inter Collegiate competition for M.com students Bhavans college  M.com students have won prizes in Quiz, Jam, Talent Hunt and Human Resource. Giving a tough competition for competitors.

Primicerius 2015
Primicerius 2015 National level fest for B.com Honours Students was  commenced on December 10th 2015 .It was for the  first time when a fest in BVC was organized on a National Level by the under graduate students of Honors fraternity.11 teams with a count of 100 students had registered and participated in the event amongst which 10 students from Christ University  from Bangalore were the outstation team . Representations from local colleges included Aurora Degree College, St Francis College, Pendaganti Institute of Management, Aneesh College of Commerce, Roots Business School and Nizam College. Two teams represented BVC – one each from BBA and B.Com.  Overall championship of Primicerius 2015 was bagged by Christ University who put up an enthralling performance in the past 2 days. Prizes worth Rs. 75,000 were awarded.

Guest Lecture by Prof. K V Achalapathi

A guest lecture was held on 03/11/2015 for M.Com and B.COM II (Reg/Comp/Hons) year students delivered by Prof. K.V.Achalapathi, Department of Commerce, Osmania University on topic “Descriptive statistical Analysis and its importance in making decision in business”.  He explained about the descriptive and inferential statistical methods applied in different fields of businesses.  He took various business examples and its adoptability in business decision.  Overall the guest lecture was very informative, interactive and interesting.

 

Guest Lecture by Dr. A. Patrick

A Guest Lecture delivered by Dr. A. Patrick, Professor, Osmania University, on topic “Statistics-A Real Time Experience” to B.Com Second Year (Reg/Comp/Hons) Students on 29th July 2015.  He gave an insight on applicability of Statistics in day-to-day life. He made the students to understand the various life situations where they applied statistics. He explained this by taking various examples related to the concepts of certainty, risk, uncertainty and conflict situations of Decision making.  The session was very interesting, interactive and informative.

Guest Lecture by Mr. Vishal Gupta:


Department of commerce conducted guest lecture for B.COM III YEAR (REG/COM/HONS) students on topic “PRIG PICTURE INVESTING” by MR. VISHAL GUPTA CA,MBA (SPAIN) on 20th July 2015.The lecture focused on role of STOCK EXCHANGES in terms of investment, liquidity and risk diversification. He also spoke about Macro Economic, Indicators, Financial Markets, National Budgets etc . The lecture was very interesting and informative.

Department of commerce conducted guest lecture for B.COM II YEAR (REG/COM/HONS) students on topic ‘STATISTICS – A real time experience by PROF. A. PATRICK, Osmania university on 28th July 2015. He explained the APPLICATION OF STATISTICS by various examples of day-to-day life. It was very informative and interesting.

Department of commerce conducted career guidance for B.COM I YEAR students of (REG/COM/HONS) on career opportunities in COSTING profession on 5th August 2015. The session was addressed by MS. LAVANYA, SECRETARY, ICMAI, Hyderabad chapter. She explained about the course in ICMAI and its value in choosing their career. It was very motivating, inspiring and valuable session.

Department of commerce organized a guest lecture for B.COM III YEAR (HONORS) students by PROF. M. USHA, HEAD DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT, NIZAM COLLEGE, Hyderabad on 8th August 2015 on topic RESEARCH METHODOLOGY. ‘The focus of the lecture was on area of interest select a topic of the project, Title Framing, Establishing An Objective, Literature Review, Sources And Collection Of Data, Data Analysis and Interpretation As Well as chapterizations . The lecture was very much interactive and informative.

Department of commerce has organized a guest lecture for P.G. STUDENTS (M. COM III SEMESTER) students by PROF. M.U. SHIVA HEAD DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT NIZAM COLLEGE Hyderabad on 8th August 2015 on RESEARCH METHODOLOGY. The lecture was focused on how to select a topic for a project, Title For Establishing An Objective, Literature Review Sources An Collection Of Data, Data Analysis, Interpretation As Well as chapterization. The lecture was very informative and enthusiastic.

Department of commerce has organized a guest lecture for P.G. STUDENTS (M. COM III SEMESTER) students by MS.LAVANYA SECRETARY ICMAI Hyderabad chapter. She spoke to the students about COST ACCOUNTING STANDARDS. It was very inspiring and informative. The lecture was conducted on 5th August 2015 for p.g. students.
